Step Into a Role That Makes an Impact! We’re seeking a SAP HCM Functional Consultant to drive success at AVI IT Shared Services Division in Bryanston, Johannesburg. This role is designed to autonomously evaluate system requirements and design optimum business solutions based on findings. The successful incumbent will be required to gather facts, analyse the client’s business processes and draw conclusions. Expected deliverables are required, but limited to, documenting and preparing design, building the solution on the SAP HCM system and leading the process to implement the final product. Well established relationships with Senior Executive down to shop floor employees ensuring timeous deliver, high quality design, consulting and software to the client.

Key Areas of Impact:

  • Consult and Design
    • Taking the lead in the analysis and design sessions to create requirements to develop the right client solution. Attending and contributing to the process design workshops, take directions and configure the SAP HCM system along with the third party software.
    • Moves logically and creatively from facts to conclusions.
    • Perform detailed analysis of complex business process requirements and provide appropriate system solutions; identify, interpret, validate and document customer requirements governed by AVI policies and legislation.
    • Create and present customised solution-oriented demonstrations.
    • Manage and respond to CBRs.
    • Making recommendations on strategic direction and roadmap for the use and implementation of SAP applications, as well as integrated third party systems.
    • Demonstrate an end-to-end understanding of Human Capital Management solutions that utilise SAP HCM.
    • Is alert to opportunities for additional requirements with the client. Shares client needs and trends in the marketplace and alerts HCM Support Manager to potential long-term impacts.
    • Provide SAP technology and architectural leadership, strategic direction and long-term vision for the SAP investment; inspire creative solutions for maximising the value contribution of the SAP investment.
  • SAP System Build
    • Ability to work as part of a dynamic team including external strategic stakeholders.
    • Prepare and conduct technical proof of concepts for clients.
    • Performs configuration and assists clients in testing cycles.
    • Provide direction and guidance when collaborating with other teams in the development of software or solutions.
    • Define, enforce and promote enterprise architecture standards, processes and procedures.
    • Champion continuous improvement, driving inefficiencies out of implemented processes and solutions.
    • Providing functional expertise on SAP architecture and making recommendations to improve performance.
    • Conduct work effort estimation and develop work plans. Ensuring timeously delivery of the estimations.
    • Provide insight on new SAP technology and how it can be leveraged appropriately to improve the current environment.
    • Continually develops HCM core skills and business knowledge based on accumulated experience. Uses AVI support methodology and tools in the support role and acquires additional skills in cross-functional areas and enabling technologies
    • Support the client with the conception and implementation of optimised processes.
    • Credibility and maturity to work with client representatives ranging from shop floor level employees to Senior Executive level.
    • Interact with ABAP, BASIS and Infrastructure teams to create and finalise solution offerings and initial project delivery plans.
    • Explain and if necessary demonstrate complex HCM Solutions and Architectures to clients at all levels.
    • Strong presentation and explanation skills.
    • Operates as a team member. Continually reports on progress to the HCM Support Manager and participates as an active member of the ITSS team. Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
    • Take leadership role in engaging with various stakeholders – portray a trusted-advisory role for SAP solutions and processes
  • Maintain good governance in accordance to AVI standards
    • Assists in the technical preparation of Change Board Request Documents, Test Scenarios, End-user documentation, and User manuals
    • Sets priorities appropriately. Ensures that work outputs are timely and of the highest quality.
    • Keeping to scheduled commitments
    • Enforce use of appropriate methodology for projects
    • Applying and adhering to AVI standards


What It Takes to Succeed:

Experience that set you up for success:                       

  • At least 5 years industry or IT skills
  • 3 Full Project Implementation Life Cycles
  • Practical application of SAP:
  • Payroll and Time management configuration and schema development essential
  • Application of SAP HCM Support Packs, Legal Change Packs, Notes within a complex and customized environment required
  • Operational knowledge and expertise required within the following SAP HCM modules:
    • Organizational Management
    • Personnel Administration
    • Personnel Development
    • Employee and Manager Self Service
    • CATS – Cross-Application Time Sheet
    • Training and Events management
    • SAP Workflow functionality
    • Interfacing with and Integration to third party systems e.g. banking, multiple SAP instances (via SAP ALE/PI), etc.

 

Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:

  • A Matric or Degree/Diploma in Information Technology equivalent is required.
  • Professional certifications in SAP HCM will be an advantage.
